Tiny House

Sharp Design Studio recently won the Best Special Event/Charity Award at the 2019 SEBC Excel Awards for our work with Saint Petersburg High School Tiny House Project.

This would not have been possible without our partnership with Tampa Bay Builders Association, Tampa Sales and Marketing Council and the Pinellas Education Foundation.

In January 2019 Sharp Design Studio partnered with Saint Petersburg High School Center for Construction Technology Program to design a tiny house for students to build throughout the school year with an estimated completion date of May 2020. The house is set to be sold with all proceeds going back into the program for similar future projects.

The tiny house is opening doors for these students, allowing them to have a hands-on experience in the trades industry and hopefully peaking their interest in the field.

On January 30 Saint Petersburg High School students that are apart of the program visited Sharp Design Studio to learn more about the design process. Don Sharp, Michael Kramer and Rich Colon were essential in the researching and designing of the tiny house.

On April 2, the shell of the tiny house was delivered to Saint Petersburg High School for students to start working on.

We are grateful to be apart of an initiative that makes a positive impact on the Tampa Bay area students. At Sharp Design Studio, we hope that students feel as inspired working on the project as we do working with them.
