Sharp Design Studio Wins “Best on the Boards Custom Home” at Aurora Awards

On August 2, 2019 Sharp Design Studio won the Grand Aurora Award for “Best on the Boards Custom Home” at the Aurora Awards for the Alamere House built by Adobe Home in Davis Island.

“Preparing the Construction Documents for this house was an exciting and challenging project to manage. Adobe always likes to push the envelope with their home ideas and Don Sharp comes through every time. This Davis Island house was no exception. Getting to work on this house with its rectangular exteriors, flat rooflines, tons of glass and open spaces made it one to remember,” said project manager, Scott Novak.

The home is a 5,686 square foot house with two stories, five bedrooms, covered lanai, three car garage and many more amenities.

“I know I wanted to create a design that was fresh and modern for Davis Island and incorporated a private courtyard to bring the outdoors in when entertaining,” said Sharp Design Studio CEO and lead designer, Don Sharp.

The Aurora Awards were established in 1979 and are presented annually to outstanding builders, designers, planners, architects, interior merchandisers and other affiliated professionals in the southeast U.S. This year 59 categories were available in all aspects of commercial, residential, remodeling and sustainability. According to the Southeast Building Conference, the Aurora Awards celebrates the achievements of design for living.

Sharp Design Studio is honored to have been awarded such a prestigious award. We hope to continue our hard work and dedication to our clients in years to come.
